End-of-Life Care Options Expanding in Southeastern Pennsylvania

Phoenixville, Pa. – Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, in collaboration with Phoenixville Hospital, hosted a Grand Opening for a new 15-bed inpatient hospice unit on December 8, 2011. The unit, staffed by Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, features three private patient rooms with family sleeping accommodations and six semi-private patient rooms. Unit amenities for patient families include a family lounge, a multi-purpose meeting room with a kitchenette area and a café-style dining room.

"We are focused on creating a comfortable, home-like setting where families can have access to stay with their loved one 24 hours a day. In addition, patients will have quality care from physicians at Phoenixville Hospital which we feel is a huge plus," comments Matthew Sowden, Executive Director of Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care.

The addition of Inpatient Hospice services at Phoenixville Hospital is another example of the hospital’s commitment to providing best in class medical care and health-related services to the community. “Patients and their families are the center of all we do at Phoenixville Hospital,” said Steve Tullman, CEO of Phoenixville Hospital. “We are excited about our new partnership with Seasons Hospice because it provides experienced, compassionate end-of-life care for those who need the additional services and support of an inpatient hospice unit.”
